All-on-4 Dental Implants Charlotte NC

Full-Arch Rehabilitation

Charlotte Dental Implant Center provides All-on-4 (All-on-X) full-arch dental implant rehabilitation at 2809 Coltsgate Road, Suite 220, Charlotte, NC 28211. Dr. Rush Sunar, DMD has performed full-arch implant procedures in Charlotte since 2002. All-on-4 is a procedure that replaces an entire arch of missing or failing teeth using four or more titanium dental implants to support a fixed prosthesis that looks, functions, and feels like natural teeth.

What Is All-on-4?

All-on-4 (also called All-on-X) is a full-arch dental implant solution designed for patients who are edentulous (missing all teeth in one or both arches) or whose remaining teeth are too damaged or decayed to save. Rather than placing one implant per missing tooth, the All-on-4 technique uses four or more strategically positioned implants per arch to support an entire set of fixed replacement teeth.

The posterior implants are typically angled to maximize contact with available bone, which often eliminates the need for bone grafting — even in patients with some bone loss. This makes All-on-4 an option for patients who have been told they don’t have enough bone for traditional implants.

All-on-4 Prosthetic Options

Charlotte Dental Implant Center offers three types of All-on-4 prosthetics:

Snap-In Removable Overdenture: An implant-supported denture that snaps onto the implants for stability but can be removed by the patient for cleaning. The most affordable full-arch implant option.

Fixed PMMA Provisional Prosthesis: A fixed (non-removable) acrylic prosthesis attached to the implants. Often used as an immediate temporary restoration on the day of surgery while the implants heal, and can serve as a long-term solution.

Final Zirconia Prosthesis: The premium option — a fixed, permanent prosthesis made from solid zirconia, which is the most durable, natural-looking, and stain-resistant material available. Designed to last decades with proper care.

All-on-4 vs Dentures

Unlike traditional removable dentures, All-on-4 implant teeth are fixed in place and do not slip, click, or require adhesive. They restore approximately 90% of natural biting force compared to roughly 25% with conventional dentures. All-on-4 also preserves jawbone by providing the stimulation that prevents bone resorption — a problem that worsens over time with removable dentures and leads to facial collapse.

Who Is a Candidate for All-on-4?

All-on-4 candidates include patients who are missing all teeth in one or both arches, patients with teeth that are too damaged or decayed to save, patients currently wearing removable dentures who want a fixed solution, and patients who have been told they lack sufficient bone for traditional implants. Dr. Sunar evaluates each patient during a free consultation that includes a cone-beam CT scan.
